The dream is over. I’ve been at school three days since January 7th, with two of those being voluntary. Now I’m back, starting a new semester. This is the long one, with few breaks or holidays until August.
Last year I taught 14 classes (7 first grade, 7 second grade) and 5 teacher classes for 19 a week, which I enjoyed a lot. This year, I teach 21 classes (14 first grade, 7 second grade) and 1 teachers class for the max of 22 a week. I’m going to be very busy.
It’s nice because at least I know half the students I’m teaching and it’ll be easy with them. But, my first graders, who just had their first day at high school, scream and giggle when I try to talk to them. I understand that it will probably be a month until they actually start to speak to me.
I’m also in a new office and am not happy about it. I have the only desk without a bookshelf (they had to order another one) and this office is on the 4th floor, as far away as possible from my English zone. My old office had 6 people, this one has 20. It’s far too busy if you ask me.
Anyways, that’s the deal. At least I have a new 22 year old co teacher who speaks fluent English – and is hot. Now I have to go drink soju and eat raw fish with all the other teachers. Fun times.
